A house is not only a correct and functional architectural volume but also that place where we feel we can be ourselves, we take refuge in it. Under these premises, we developed this project \u2013a barrel vault with big cantilevers without columns, interrelated with an inverted C-shaped white stripe as from a central inner courtyard: the green heart of the house, the ordering axis by which spaces on the ground floor are developed, and vertical circulation. At the same time, this allows to incorporate the garden to the interior of the house, thus enhancing this in-out relationship. The articulation of these elements, which are very different between each other, but which are part of a whole, allows us to easily distinguish and delimit the uses and areas. The \u2018stripe\u2019 volume is suspended on the ground as a light element. This idea is emphasized during the evening, for the building is illuminated as from below its structure. This stripe has public use functions \u2013living room, dining room and it also constitutes the wrap of its exterior expansion. These rooms are higher than the rest of the rooms, which conveys more relevance to the volume. On the other side of the central courtyard, we find the utility area. The top floor of the house is materialized in a large barrel vault challenging gravity by its large cantilever articulated with the rest of the rooms by the central courtyard, where we find the staircase. That volume represents the private area of the house, containing the bedrooms and the bathrooms.
